The first Five Star Pizza was opened in Gainesville Florida, in 1988 by John Gillespie.

It didn't take long before it became the University of Florida students' favorite. Our first location was such a overwhelming success that we needed a second location. With my brothers Steve and Paul a second Gainesville location was added. In a short time a third location in Ocala Followed.

Our sauce is made each day from vine ripened California tomatoes. Our commitment to quality has never wavered from the beginning regardless of the cost of ingredients.

Other Pizza companies have shrunk their large pizzas to 15, 14 or 13 inches ( about 20%), five star pizza has continued to make a 16" large pizza.
